I have been getting eyelash extensions for a little over a year and I’ll never go back! I have really small eyes and I have always struggled to find a mascara that would actually make me look like I had eyelashes. When I heard about and saw other people with eyelash extensions I knew I had to try them!

I get my Eyelash Extensions done by Jessica Fuller who is a board certified medical esthetician, electrologist, advanced eyelash technician and owner of Beautiful You located right inside of Lena Maxey! I’ve gotten tons of questions lately about my extensions so when I got my lashes filled yesterday we had Jessica go over all of the details with us!

So first….what are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are individual synthetic lashes that are applied using medical grade adhesive to your natural individual lashes. The enhance your natural lashes and make them look longer and fuller and are made to look identical to human lashes. They are applied one lash at a time onto the existing lash and the entire procedure is very comfortable and relaxing. The lashes are weightless and water-proof; you can shower, exercise and even sleep with them on!

How long do they last?
The natural life of the lashes is about 100 days. Your own eyelashes grow out on a continuous cycle, so touching up the extensions will help to maintain the fullness of really lush lashes. Lash maintenance is very important but how often you get them filled is really up to how much physical activity you do, how much you rub your eyes or how often they get wet! Refills are recommended ever 2 to 3 weeks but some clients can go up to 4 weeks! Your regular lashes always shed and some people have a higher turnover rate for how fast they fall out!

How long does the application take?
For your first set it usually takes an hour and a half to 2 hours. This includes your consultation and the application. Refills usually take 45 minutes to an hour!

How much does it cost?
Your first application with Jessica costs $160! Every refill after that is $50. In my personal opinion this is extremely reasonable! Lashes can cost $160-$400 depending on where you are. Jessica is also running a special if you mention this blog post for $120 so RUN and make your appointment now! You can make your appointment online or call or text her at 813-703-1450.

What is the application process like?
The whole application is so comfortable and relaxing! Here are some pictures of the steps and some before and after photos!

Here are my lashes before any extensions have been applied. The pads are applied under your eyes so she can see the your lashes and separate them and are also used for the glue.  She brushes out your lashes and if any of the old extensions need to be removed she does it here. (I didn’t have a lot left this time) Don’t wear any makeup or lotion when you’re getting your lashes applied so these will stick!

She also puts tape on your eyelids to hold your lids back so she can apply the lashes! Each lash extension is dipped in glue and then applied to each individual lash. There are different sizes of the lashes that you can get, I get a mixture of sizes C and D.

After all of your lashes are applied on one side she blows air to get rid of the fumes that the glue produces and the pad is removed!

She repeats the same process on the other eye. Look at the difference between the two!

The pads and tape are then removed.  I always lay down a few extra minutes so the glue can dry and it won’t burn when I open my eyes.

Here are my after photos! The whole process is so comfortable, easy and relaxing! Jessica does an AMAZING job! My lashes make me look so awake and “done” even if I don’t have makeup on!

To make your appointment you can call or text Jessica at 813-703-1450. If you would rather make your appointment online you can also do that here on her website! Don’t forget if you mention this post you can get your first set for $120! I promise you will love them!
