I saw this project online and immediately knew I wanted to try to make my own! This door hanger keeps with the trend of Halloween being cute, not creepy at my house and I am loving how it turned out! All of the different colored ornaments are so whimsical and this project is so different from anything that I have seen lately! I will say that it is time consuming, plan for it to take around 2-3 hours! I used 35 ornaments in all most were from Hobby Lobby, Sam’s Club and the Dollar Tree!

What you need:

Cauldron
Jigsaw
Ornaments
Hot Glue Gun
Glue
Foam Board
Drill

Cut your cauldron in half with a jigsaw and follow the seam of the pot. Drill a hole on both sides at the top for the hanger. I fed my hanger through the holes and through the backing to help keep the cauldron steady, it can get a little heavy!

Create your backing. Lay it on a piece of foam board and trace out the pot. And then trace out the top where you’re going to glue your ornaments.

Spray paint the foam backing black on both sides. Once dry, lay your cauldron back on top and trace where the top of the cauldron stops. Hot Glue the backing to your pot!

Fill the bottom of the cauldron with cardboard or whatever you can find to take up space. I didn’t want to fill it with ornaments because you won’t be able to see them!

Decide on the design. It was easiest for me to do this with the cauldron laying flat. I used a large ornament in the middle and glued it to the backing and then added five of the medium size ornaments to build up the cauldron. Then I started adding in the smaller ornaments and glitter ball fillers to fill in the cracks and cover up the mechanics!

You can see all of the steps in the video below!
