Fun & Simple Ways to Cut a Watermelon
I wish I could tell you the best way to pick out a watermelon..but as I said in the video below…it’s crap shoot! I have read all the tips and tricks on this so I do try to pick a watermelon that feels heavy for its size and one that has a yellow spot on the bottom.
It’s hit or miss if I get a sweet one!
I always choose a seedless watermelon and I start by cutting the watermelon in half.
Place one side of the watermelon cut side down on a cutting board.
With a sharp knife cut the green peel off.
Cut the white bits off until the red is all that you see.
Slice the watermelon into 1/2 inch slices.
Turn cutting board and slice in the other direction.
Lay each section down on cutting board and slice across to make bite size pieces
Place each cut section into a bowl and enjoy!
For the second way to cut a watermelon…
Place watermelon cut side down on cutting board
Cut 1/2 inch to 1 inch slices all the way across watermelon
Turn cutting board (60 degrees) and cut 1/2 to 1 inch slices across watermelon
Transfer the watermelon half to a platter and serve
